The Desert Cities Mitchell Paige Chapter, 1st Marine Division Association donated $6,000 in Christmas Visa Gift Cards for the young enlisted families of the four battalions in the 7th Marines. Each Battalion Commander will receive 30 fifty dollar cards to distribute to the needy families.

The Desert Cities Mitchell Paige MOH Chapter held a fund raiser with Jensen's Markets in Palm Springs and Palm Desert during December, 2011 to donate Complete Christmas Turkey Dinners for the young enlisted Marine families at the 29 Palms Combat Center.

The Chapter delivered 140 complete dinners to families of the 1/7, 1st Tank Battalion, Wounded Warriors and to the Armed Services YMCA. Each dinner would serve 6 - 8 people in the families.

Bob Shepard and Jim Sullivan were one of the teams to staff the 2011 Christmas Turkey Dinner fund raiser at Jensen's Markets.
