Jim Sullivan
I proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 - 1963 which
included both active duty and reserve service. I was a rifle instructor and
served with a communications company during my service.
After the Marines I went to California State University, Long Beach and had
plans to return to the Marine Corps and get a commission. Unfortunately, a
football injury kept me from passing the physical for officer candidate school.
My business background
included being Vice President of the Midland Companies, President of Gail
International Corp and owner of J.E.S. Sales Consultants. I am married to Karen
and have one son, daughter in law and two grand daughters.
"Once a Marine, Always a Marine" has been my motto over the years. I learned of
the 1st Marine Division Association in the Coachella Valley and joined the
chapter in 2004. I became the chapter secretary / treasurer in 2005 and the
chapter president in 2006. Now, as past president I head the fund raising
efforts for the 7th Marines Regiment at 29 Palms and for the Marine Jr. ROTC
Cadets at Desert Hot Springs High School.
